Manic Monday

It has been a hot few days, today we walked to the shops, had a lovely lunch at Wheatberries on the way back and then decided, as it was so hot, to dig like mad dervishes for half an hour and put gravel around the newly painted fire hydrant (the man came a week or so ago).

Today on an extended walk down Chamberlin, we happened upon a Pileated woodpecker hopping from hydro pole to hydro pole.

May, The Eagle Dog

Our next door neighbour has adopted a dog that was a local celebrity for a while a few months ago.

The dog was an abandoned female that was dropped from a great height, caught by a bald eagle for a tasty lunch, however, the feisty little dog was not intending to die that day and struggled free and landed in a retirement home near Sechelt.

Nursed back to health by the BCSPCA, a couple of operations, teeth extractions and some drug work, the dog is happy with it's new owner.

It must be trendy at the moment, this one down near Cole's Marine Ways.

Last week we sat at the pub and watched our local Coast Guard auxiliary bring this boat closer to the shore, today it is on it's side and feeling sorry for itself.

Crucil Townhouses

The townhouse project at the end of Crucil is advancing quite rapidly now. Strange that the houses will eventually be thirty-five foot tall and currently sit at around ten. Ah well, not exactly in our back yard and will not affect our view (We're taking the I'm all right jack approach).
