We attended the new Gibsons Elementary Ground Breaking Ceremony yesterday
It was a fantastic sunny day for the ceremony. The students who were there were very excited and all wearing their bright yellow hard hats. In attendance were a bunch of local politicians and school board trustees and more important for the pair of us, the kids and Squamish Band Members who sang and blessed the location.
It was actually a very moving experience.

That was about half of it, this is the other half, jeepers, We have to cut this into smaller bits yet...
It never hurts to ask...
Wow, what a great couple of outdoor days we have had.
We went over to the boss of the job site over the road, they had been using a mobile sawmill to cut the downed trees into planks and various forms. There was a lot of good waste wood left over, so we asked him if we could take it.
We moved probably two or more tons of wood, probably three winters worth of cozy fires (we need to brew more wine) and of course, two great days out in the fresh air, breathing pollen and wood dust.
Here's the result of our labours:
