As we have a good block of woodland behind the house we have been having a regular group of visitors here, we think that they are either Sharp Shinned Hawks or Coopers Hawks. Their coloring has been predominantly grey with square tail which leans us towards the former.
This guy this morning was concerned as I approached, gave me a good old look as I took the picture.

City Hall.
City Hall. Cambie Street. Vancouver.
Classic lines, reminds me of a building style from my home city, Liverpool.

Valentines Day
Valentines Day + Vancouver + Cheese + Beer.
Early ferry, Blenz coffee for breakfast, a trip up to Benton Brothers and then down to the Dockside brew pub, lunch then onto Cactus Club for more of the same, back on the 5.30pm ferry and home for a cheese sampling.
Perfect day.

Kindle is dead. RIP
One of my Facebook friends posted this morning that his Kindle had died, being a helpful sort of chap I decided to investigate how to reset the Kindle, so I grabbed mine and found that the battery was flat.
No issues, that has happened before, after the initial frenzy of reading on the device, it has sort of relaxed under the couch side table, doing very little except for being charged up every ten weeks or so.
This time it was different.
Lifeless.
I contacted Amazon and they stepped me through the same reset routine I had tried twice, then said they would call back in an hour after a charge (my light never came on) which they didn't, so I contacted them again and the new guy stepped me through the same reset routine once more.
Dead.
They are nicely providing a free replacement of a 4th Generation Kindle.
I look forward to not using that one.
